Welcome to Rain City Soccer Club!

Rain City Soccer Club (RCSC) organizes predominantly gay/lesbian soccer teams in the Seattle area. Our membership includes three hundred members of all skill levels and ages playing on one or more of the teams year round! We are proud to announce that, as of 2006, we are the largest LGBT soccer club in the world! Our purpose is to provide members with a safe environment to meet like-minded people to socialize and play soccer. Membership is open to all skill levels; all you need is a healthy and positive attitude. Our organization offers several levels of competition from open scrimmages to competitive indoor and outdoor teams.

RCSC strives to:

  • Provide opportunities to play on competitive and/or recreational LGBT teams of various skill levels
  • Provide opportunities to learn to play soccer in a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment
  • Organize social events where LGBT people (and friends) can meet and socialize in a positive and healthy environment
  • Be well represented by and equally inclusive of women and men
  • Provide a healthy, health-promoting environment for soccer players in our region

RCSC is a member of the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association, Gay and Lesbian International Sports Association, the Federation of Gay Games, and is represented at national and international tournaments including Out Games, IGLFA tournaments, and Gay Games. Our Club participates and/or organizes several international tournaments throughout the year in Seattle or Canada, and is joined by Portland soccer team as well.

  • Grr Force is RCSC's co-ed recreational soccer team devoted to creating an environment where all players feel welcomed and respected. The team's mission is to develop fundamental soccer skills and promote a healthy lifestyle while having fun and fostering friendships. These goals are fulfilled through practices, team cardio workouts, social events, and scheduled league games.

  • Ripple Effect is RCSC's recreational men's soccer team. It plays a weekly scrimmage game on Sunday afternoons. Ripple Effect plays for fun, emphasizes a positive and inclusive space, focuses on individual skill-building and teamwork, and often goes out for one beer after games.

Ripple Effect is perfect for guys who are looking for more relaxed play, who are just getting back into soccer, who are just learning the game and/or who want to supplement their competitive play with a recreational team.

  • Rain City Riot is RCSC's intermediate competitive men's team that plays in Seattle's Co-Rec league. The team is open to players who have some experience playing soccer. The focus of the team is to improve our level of play and to have fun on the field.

  • Grrl Scouts is RCSC's exciting team of women who play recreational soccer with a competitive edge. Regardless of age, the only requirement is a desire to play and have lots of fun. Grrl Scouts plays weekly in Seattle's co-rec soccer league and also participate in various regional, national and international tournaments - including the Festival of Babes originated in San Francisco, the Gay Games and International Gay and Lesbian Football Association's World Championships.

  • Vain Girls is a 99.9% lesbian soccer club playing on Sundays in Co-Rec. We are always looking for women with a good attitude to play soccer and have fun. We are somewhat competitive but take on players new to the game or those who might be a bit rusty. We like to have fun, socialize, and play soccer.

  • Stonewall F.C. is RCSC's competitive men's soccer team that plays in the Greater Seattle Soccer League (GSSL). We like to play hard, have fun and win!

Stonewall F.C. also assembles a team to compete in regional, national, and international tournaments including the OutGames, Gay Games and the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association World Championships.

  • Downpour is a competitive men's 30 and over soccer team that plays in the Greater Seattle Soccer League (GSSL). We might not be as fast as the Stonewall team but we play smarter.

  • Deluge is RCSC's new and energetic all-ages women's team. We play competitively in Seattle's Co-Rec soccer league on weekday evenings and welcome women who are interested in playing soccer and having a great time doing it, regardless of orientation.

  • Special Effect is the Club's Saturday morning team. It actively welcomes women, men and new soccer players – as well as other existing players on Ripple Effect and competitive teams. Play is meant to be fun, inclusive and positive, with plenty of focus on individual skill-building and teamwork. Special Effect is an expansion of Ripple Effect, the Club's popular men's recreational team which plays Sunday afternoons.

RCSC is now a 501(c)3 qualified organization (through Team Seattle). Contributions made are tax-deductible. Please contact a manager or board member for details.
